Question Just had a great idea for new mod.

Many great mods for the g35 came from this forum, with some still coming out. However not too many are out for modding the instrument cluster other than replacing the LED's or replacing entirely with a Nismo cluster (ultra rare and pricey).

What if someone could make a kit where an LED curve existed just on and above of the current gauges and numbers inside the cluster.

As the needle moved, the area the left (or right depending on gauge) stayed pretty brightly lit. This would work as a shift light of sorts, since it would be able to be seen...and the LED's could change color as redline RPM's are reached.

TO THIS:

Green LED's for in "good temps" gauge, the gas gauge LED's would literally be lit up to the needle anddrop lower as an easy way to see how much is left.

RPM's could be seen rising while still looking up, a needle is harder to see with your peripherial vision.

Cool idea, I love digital speedometers, my girlfriends civic is wicked for that.

Gotta think it's gonna get pricey though, cluster mods tend to lead to problems in the dash

it could be a stick on LED addition, with no cutting, maybe even the if the LEds could just be motion activated so when the needle passes they would stay lit. Not real hookup needed other than the needle passing over, not sure its possible though.

One of my next mods will be to add gauges but to recreate the cluster might only lead to major headaches....gotta "BUMP!"

Dude, just copy the LEXUS LFA cluster. I almost caught a hardon when I saw it.
