My drive home

Was driving through a construction zone and got stuck behind an 18wheeler. This thing hit one of those 4 foot tall orange 'this lane closed' cones, sending it right at me. I swerved as much as I could and it hit my front right bumper. I was fearing the worst by the sound it made. But when I had a chance to stop and look at it the damage it had only popped my side marker out 1/2 way. Not even a clear coat mark... So I learned three things today:

1. This car handles amazing well
2. Tough paint
3. Really need to clear sides

Well I am glad to hear that you are okay. Hitting stuff on the road is never fun, I hit some bricks that fell out in front of me awhile back.

But I will agree with points 1 and 3 of your claim. As for the tough paint, I can't say the same. The clearcoat seems to be as hard as hot butter.

Almost the same thing happened to me driving down the freeway at night this last year. The car in front of me hit one of those fat azz tire recap treads and hurled it at my front bumper at 70+MPH. It made a scary noise and I wasn't looking forward to seeing the damage. Pulled into my garage and there were a few rubber scrapes on my bumper/right fender and of course my JDM clear was hanging out but nothing seriously damaged....that's "Luck!"

I had a similar experience to Gary last year. Was cruising down the highway at 65 in a pack of cars and the car in front of me kicked up a 2' square piece of tire that spun through the air, smacked my front bumper, flipped up over the car, and attacked the trunk on the way down. Fortunately it hit the license plate up front (I guess they're good for something) and didn't leave a mark on the trunk. Bent the plate back into shape and was good to go. Could've been a lot worse........

Unfortunately, it's the truth.

I hit a kiddie pool that flew out of a truck and was in the middle of the road at about 65. It didnt really do anything to the Nismo front. Luck I guess...

as for point 1... i agree dodged a dead deer on a bridge at about 55 at the last minute and just recently a huge pothole on I-95 doing about 80... the people behind me drove by and gave me the thumbs up haha i will swerve for any sort of bump in the road... blew out a tire/cracked a rim driving down the road last week in what seemed to be an absent square foot of pavement

Yeah not sure about your second point, may have to disagree. I had one of these moments, thats why I never cruise next to or behind a trucker. To many times they have almost f***ed me over. This one instance about two months ago when I was driving home from school on 77s this trucker merges into the left lane without even looking and I had to slow down from 85 to 55 with not enough distance. Luckily I made it otherwise I don't think that dumba** would be with us anymore.
