looking to get a new grill

What color is your car. I want to paint my grill black too but dont know if it would look better in ultra gloss black or matte black. I have a black OB coupe.

I actually kind of prefer satin black, which I believe is a combination of matte and gloss, somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I think a gloss black grill has the potential to look a little bit tacky (same as gloss black wheels IMO) and the matte can look unfinished in certain lighting conditions. The satin would be ideal.
I went matte because Plastidip is not permanent and is very easy to redo if I ever got any rock chips. Paint would've been a huge hassle to touch it up every couple months.

Its not painted its just some inserts.
I kinda agree but the mesh grew on me(kinda like your amber sides), and I have yet to see anyone else with these inserts...
