If you read through some more of the OPs posts he does say they switched to the AEM EMS. Id really like to know how they ran the car before they switched. Ive heard they are run with both ecus, one for the cabin stuff (specifically cluster) and one for the motor. But how? I mean, concievably it could be possible to pigtail off the harness and split functionality but holy crap what a mess of wiring that would be (i would think). Wish the OP would answer and give some insight...

swap inquiry

I'm interested in doing the 2J swap in my 03 coupe. I'm interested to know what modification were absolutely necessary for fitting the 2J and getting it running. also is this a VVTi or non VVTi, and whats the difference? Lastly why did you go V161 trans over a CD009 from a 350z?

Dude seriously, did you read any of this thread? Just read the 2 posts above you and you'll know that questions here for the OP are futile. I'm betting no one that's a current member can answer them either. Might want to hit up Google, you'll have a better chance of getting answers there.

theres not alot of modification , you need the 2j/1j, collins makes mounts for 250$ you use the factory chassis rubber mounts in combination with these , run the cd00X get the 400$ collins bell housing cut adapter, is300 flywheel and pressure plate , s13 clutch disk .. you will use the G drive shaft ,and x member and youll need the wiring specialist harness which runs between 1200-2300 depending on what options you use .. bolt it all together decide if you want AC and P/s get appropriate lines made for each .. you basically good to go

g35
I have 2005 g35 coupe 5at transmission. Im thinking about a 2jz swap. Do i need to modify my car and make it MT transmission suitable or can i just swap out for another AT transmission that can keep up with the 2jz swap.

Harness

We were able to intigrate into all of the factory electronics to get all of the factory guages and buttons working. We are using the stock G35 rear end and have partnered with a drive shaft shop to make a drive shaft that can adapt to the getrag from the supra to the G35 diff so everything there still works like factory. We did keep the stock braking system since we already had the Brembo package on this car, so no modifications were made to the ABS which still works. As far as emissions goes the 2JZ is a very efficent engine and we actually got a little over 30 MPG on a test drive we took last weekend going over 300 miles on the highway. We do atribute that MPG gain to the heat exchanger which allowed us to tune the AFC to -30% fuel hence the lowered fuel consumption. The 30 MPG was with us hitting boost on the highway so we could tune the AFC properly. Once you get past the engine we do have a 3 inch exhaust, but it has a Y pipe that adapts back into the stock G35 exhaust on one side and the other side is a 3 inch adjustable exhaust cut out so we can open, close, and adjust the exhaust. The cut out also helps us restrict the exhaust sound down to almost a stock level when just cruising around. We are in Florida so we don't have emissions check like some other states, but we are confident that it should meet emissions the way it is set up currently. On a side note we wanted to adapt back the stock functionality of the G35 so much that we even made the Supra 6 speed getrag transmission adapt so that the stock motion normally used with a 6 speed getrag of pulling up to reverse has now been adapted so you push down for reverse just like a stock 6 speed G35 does.

Thanks for the questions.

I have same project and need more information about the harness.. plz help
