Do you feel like your G is junk?
but i still find it good for people to obsess over those things (small and big) because if prospecting a specific car you know EXACTLY what you're getting into
it might be annoying to the owners of the car but to potential buyers its the perfect FREE guide

I don't. This is one of the nicest cars I have been in. My only concern is the OC and really I wouldnt be too bothered about it, but it is going to be a hassle to go through the process since the nearest Infiniti is about 80 miles away which should only be an hour and a half, but traffic can make that 3 or 4 hours + one way.
Other than that, I have no complaints.
I might be a little more picky if I bought mine brand new, but Infiniti would never get 37 - 40K from me....

LOL! I do the same exact thing!
I have a high pitch, screeching engine noise around 2900-3100rpm under hard(er) acceleration, then goes away until next (hard) acceleration.
Also, there's a slight 'woosh' noise under the vehicle around 55-65mph. Wheel Bearings worn?
**p.s. will try to post a video/audio sample of the first engine noise soon..

No junk....but has had it's issues. I still love it, but every g35 tsb or common issue has occured to my car. Now at 71k miles, the front wheel bearings are going.
But I'll fix it, and I'll still love the car. Mechanically, it runs fine, but does have it share of little issues. I also had an 05 maxima that had tons of little issues. I'll still consider an infiniti for my next car. I love them.
I will say this however. If a friend asks me about purchasing an 03-07 g35, and they aren't mechanically inclined, then I won't recommend the car for them.

I bought mine (2004 6-speed coupe) as the fifth owner. My passenger-side airbag cover is a little loose (thanks honey for forcefully checking that the DVD navigation reader was still in there), the driver's side door locks only when the temperature outside is near room temperature, and the driver's seat belt is reluctant to retract fully.
The car is wonderful. I had considered buying this exact configuration when it was new, but I am glad I waited. I still have "Plan A" in the garage, but as a daily driver, there is little else that I would rather be rockin'.
I agree with a lot of the posts - I think the 1st generation coupe styling is timeless. I love staring at it. All I need are some wheels to make it completely perfect for me.

That's not a flaw. That is a Nissan patented feature. Every Nissan I've owned since 1990 has had this except for my wife's G35X. I've only had my coupe for 4-5 months and it is already second nature to flip the seatbelt back in the door.
No it isn't junk... I love my G35. What is junk are the Renault door actuators for the door locks and the window motors. I'm on my 4th window motor and just completed the $5 / door actuator fix on both doors that can be found on other locations on this forum. So far the only parts I've had to replace are stamped with Renault vs. Nissan--go figure...
My 06 6MT just turned 70000. I love my car. It has one rattle but it doesn't bother me at all. Service at my local Infiniti is outstanding, and I'm in the middle of the Oil Consumption TSB right now. So far I'm passing!
This is the best car I've ever owned, hands down.
