Painting stock calipers, Ricer or not?

Okay, so I plan on attack this rotor rust soon and I was toying with the idea of painting my calibers while I have my wheels off. I really like the look of the Red calibers but I don't really feel like dishing out like 3k for a BBK. The sport brakes are already bigger and I am satisfied with their performance.

what do you guys think. If you saw this would you think rice or a tasteful mod?

also I have heard of caliber covers. Anyone have any experience with these or know of a good brand?
