Hey guys, first post here so please bear with me.

I did use the search function but could not find a definitive answer for this..

I have a 6mt coupe and only one of my keys works to start the car. The other one is cracked(the black part above the infiniti logo) and the guy I bought it from said it fell in water. It cranks the car but it just won't turn over - the other key is fine and starts the car no problem.

How much would it be to have it reprogrammed? Is it a programming issue?

If I buy a new key and transponder on eBay, can I program it myself? Do I need a new key or is it just a transponder?

Help guys, I'm lost and am scared that if something happens to my 1 key, I will lose access to my car..

 

Well, it's electric and it fell in water. You probably need a new key, which you will need to have programmed.

 

there are so many options on ebay- which one is best? and how much will it cost to have it programmed at the dealer?

 

cost probably around 100 bucks to program. I think a good locksmith may also have tools to program these types of keys as well.
