WD-40 on brakes
Is it harmful to the breaks if WD-40 comes in contact with the pads, calipers, or rotors?

Na just make sure u clean them real good before u drive on them..

Just with soap and water. I drove like literally 5minutes to the car wash before i washed em

What do you think it would do if I havent used brake cleaner

And brake cleaner - just get some, you don't want to screw around here. Clean thoroughly!! I'm assuming it was accidental and you're not using WD40 on your brakes.

i used it on my tsx in close proximity with the rotors. There was some surface rust that i scrubbed off of the rotor, not the face but the part that the lug bolts stick out on. WD-40 got on the rotors and pads though.

Can't agree more. You need to use brake cleaner to remove the lubrication that WD-40 provides.

Brakes are the one area of a car you really don't want to take any chance with.

I hear ya! I did it about a week ago and cleaned it right after i was done with a pressure washer... fu@%

I have a friend that Uses WD-40 on his rotors and then Burns off a layer by slowly driving it at low speeds and holding down the breakes lightly, it removes any squeaks. It really dose work.

WD-40 is a horrible lubricant, after you apply some pressure and some heat it will be gone.

But I would feel safer having it cleaned.
