And brake cleaner - just get some, you don't want to screw around here. Clean thoroughly!! I'm assuming it was accidental and you're not using WD40 on your brakes.
i used it on my tsx in close proximity with the rotors. There was some surface rust that i scrubbed off of the rotor, not the face but the part that the lug bolts stick out on. WD-40 got on the rotors and pads though.
I have a friend that Uses WD-40 on his rotors and then Burns off a layer by slowly driving it at low speeds and holding down the breakes lightly, it removes any squeaks. It really dose work.
