Well i am getting my new G tinted next week and dont know what % to go with. I live in MA where the legal limit is 35%. IN my old car, which was bright red, i had 22% and 13% in the back windows. Ended up getting 4 tint tickets in 2 years. I chalked it up to it being bright red as my buddies who have black and blue cars, dont have trouble with tint around here. Not that i have a car that blends in better, i would like to go around 26%. I have a black interior as well.. i dont know what to do

 

What color is your G? I know someone with a black IS that has like 10% tint and has never gotten in trouble. All about that exterior color and how the tint blends in or sticks out

go 20%, thats what i have on my DG coupe and love it...only advice is to know some place you can go for inspection....inspection places are strict these days on tint....they could lose their inspection liscense if found passing illegal tint....

 

thats the only bad thing..i just got it inspected 4 days ago so i am set for a year

 

I think 35% looks good, plus it should take careof your tickets issue. I'm getting mine done next with 35% all around.

 

I'd go with 40 to keep it legal and it will still look darker because of the black int. I've got 40 on mine and when I went for inspection they measured it and it came out at 36% right at the limit in MA.

 

In that case, definitely go at least 20%....when i could not find a place to look the other way for my tint, i removed the tint off the front two windows for 20 bucks, got it inspected, then re-tinted them for 50...(70 bucks total)...thats about 6 dollars a month for my car to look sexy.....its worth it...i just go to Bojangles one less time a month....lol....

 

i plan on getting tints soon too. u think it will make a difference if i go 35 instead of 20? will i get less tickets? on my last silver car i had 20% and i got 4 tint tickets in one year. btw any tint is illegal in new york.

 

if any tint is illegal, 20% will definitely get you tint tickets, 35% would yield less tickets, but that's all dependent on the color of your interior....

 

see i would have to get all 4 windows removed..tried the front 2 3 years ago and they still wouldnt inspect it..oh well..thinking around 25%

My vote is just stick with 35%. Like someone else said cops and inspection places are getting a lot more strict. State troopers too. A lot of my buddies who used to get 20% tint or darker all don't have any tint anymore...lol. Either that or get as dark as you want. If you are going to have illegal tint, get the tint you want...

 

Mark you live in Florida, if in fact you have laws they're rarely enforced. I think every G in your state runs test pipes or has 5% tint but who cares....

Anton, since you have a track record of getting busted for tint I suggest you stay within the law and just go with the 35% allowed....unless of course you want to give'em a reason to pull you over! The 35% looks darker if you close the shade on your sunroof, and the very reason I keep mine open.
