typical debate, different circumstances, 350z or g35 coupe

Insurance is based on where you live not just the car you own or your age, my 2000 civic cost more to insure than my 03 g35 because honda theft is high were I live. Call your insurance agent and they can quote you any car to see what your rates will look like between the two cars. Our 2005 beemer cost more to insure than my 03 G and I havn't figured that one out.

This all depends on what you want.
We can argue semantics and opinions all day, but in the end what do YOU want in a car?
Do you want something more towards performance? If so, then the Z is for you. If you just want a sexy looking, entry level sports car (jib-jabs will probably disagree, but that is his opinion and I can respect that) then the G is for you.
Either way, if you're going to mod either car, doing it properly is not cheap. And doing it properly won't happen over night either.
But to be honest, if you're just looking for a performance car that can blow the doors off other cars, then I wouldn't get either one.

get the G35 because:
higher resale value (i.e. youll pay a bit more for it than the same 350z, but it will still be worth more)
the exterior is FAR sexier, i much prefer a trunk to a hatch, hatchback just sounds "cheap"
you'll save money in the long run with the G35, my insurance is HALF what the same year 350z would have cost me. That savings alone makes it worth it.

Looks are very much your own opinion. A lot of people think the evo is ugly as hell, and told me I was stupid for switching to a G35 to an evo, but I did it anyway because I liked it, and not others.
What is your budget? If you're budget isn't too low, you don't HAVE to get stuck with a high mileage G35.

I don't see how someone could think it is ugly.
