The warranty is negotiable. Try finding the invoice price and use that as the basis for negotiation.

Before i got my extended warranty, my 2006 coupe had a few problems...

Passenger side window motor went out- ~$600
a "Steering Angle Position Sensor" went out- ~$800

So i bought an extended warranty... $1200 for 3years/36K miles...

A month after i bought the extended warranty, My drivers side seat got messed up on the track somehow, the right side would go back faurther than the left...

Replacing the rails for the seats- ~$800

Then my transmission would studder when id accelerate around 45mph, and it happened even more frequently around 75-80...

Replaced a valve body in my transmission- ~$900 (had to change out the tranny fluid as well)

My warranty has paid for itself! And i still have another 2 1/2 years left on it

ATTENTION:

If your looking to get an extended warranty, contact Courtney Mutema from Infiniti of Scottsdale. She sells the warranty's only slightly over what the dealership gets charged for them. Tell her your from g35driver.com and the NICO forums. She was a pleasure to work with...
Her phone number (work of course) is 480-941-0055

I just picked up a IEPP for my G.

If you purchase before 40K miles you can take it out 60K/60 months. If you exceed 40K miles then it drops down to 48K/48 months.

I'm now covered until 2/2016 or 99,035 miles.

I have a 2007 Infiniti G35 with about 38k miles. My Basic Warranty is expiring this April.

Is it worth extending the basic Infiniti warranty?

Thoughts, ideas, feedback, experiences, prices, etc. are all appreciated..

Bought my G35 used which came with an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty; 100 bucks to transfer over to my name. Haven't had to replace anything yet but it just rolled over 30,000km.

When something goes, sometimes it's an excuse to ugprade (think DD unit). But some stuff can be costly if you're not covered anymore (OC issue, tranny, seats etc).

Until I can (or want) to build up the engine for a major upgrade, I'm not sure how much modding I'll do to it. I don't think rear suspension is even covered so that'll be the first thing to upgrade when the shocks go. I think our dealer here in town is better but for a long time they were notorious for screwing over owners. Dealership-customer relationships have to be sound or they'll f**k you even if you have a warranty!

I think that waranties are good if you want to play it safe but overall they exist to make someone money. I'm sure someone has calculated the average cost to service the car during the warranty period and made sure that the cost of the warranty is higher than that. Basically the odds will be in there favour to make money off of it so I am never a big fan of warranties. Maybe if you drive your car really hard then it could be a good thing.

I just bought a 07 with 38k miles on a Volvo C70. I bought the extended warranty that gave me 4/50,000 miles. I bought it cause i know nothing about cars....it's more of a peace of mind for me.

My 2004 had:

2 window motors
1 door lock motor
1 stereo head unit
1 power seat button assembly
1 driver side head light assembly
driver side seat rails

All done under extended warranty before hitting 60,000 miles. Totally worth it.

I don't know if I will. I plan to keep for 150k but eh.... I feel like the odds are in their favor otherwise they wouldn't give out the warranty at that price.
