I have a quick question about CVC 22348(b)

CVC 22348(b): A person who drives a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than 100 miles per hour. I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten one of these? I got ticketed for going over 100 in Barstow, CA on the way back from Vegas. This is my first time getting pulled over by the CHP and was wondering if it's possible to get traffic school. Also, how much would a ticket like this be? I've been doing some research and according to the DMV's website it states that "(1) Upon a first conviction of a violation of this subdivision, by a fine of not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500). The court may also suspend the privilege of the person to operate a motor vehicle for a period not to exceed 30 days pursuant to Section 13200.5." However I see people's fine ranging from 800-1500. How much should I expect my fine to be? Thanks in advance guys.

You don't need to bump a thread that is only a few hours old and hasn't even fallen off the first page. Furthermore, assuming you just got this ticket, this clearly isn't an urgent issue.

You would most likely find more information searching google, but you would also likely be best off attending your court date and seeing if you can get a reduction and traffic school.

I did not know it was still on the first page .... Yes I got the ticket about three weeks ago ... I did google a lot about this but there's conflicting information ... Some people say you can get traffic school while others say you can't . Others say that the ticket should be around 800 while my friend's cousin said his was 1,500 ..

If we are unable to provide you with an answer, keep in mind that most law firms offer free consultation.

Here's an idea. Don't drive 100 and you won't have to worry about a $1500 ticket.

Thanks for pointing the obvious, Mr. Obvious. I don't need your inept statement. It's pretty commonplace to see people driving around 100 on the I-15 back from Vegas if you haven't noticed... I don't normally drive that fast, and I will not again ..

I got 93 in a 60 once...yeah yeah, I know

ticket was like $300, no where near what I thought

this was in the DFW area of Texas

no chance for defensive driving if your more than 15MPH over in Texas so its probably the same there.

Why haven't you called the city where you got the ticket? They can tell you everything you need to know

Did he get you on radar?

I would fight it, better than pleading guilty right away. Or you can hire traffic lawyer, I bet he can get it reduced and work something out.

You should really look into going in and asking for a fee reduction, blah blah plead guilty with exception. You can literally take hundreds off your ticket and possibly get traffic school

i got something like that before (once or twice XD) but yeah i fought hem in court...didnt get any points out of it or have to take traffic school (also depends how many times you took it before and how your record looks) soo ya i ended up paying for the ticket and legal fees but i won in court. this should be a lesson not to speed anymore (i know i dont)
also it depends on the laws around you (im in Florida)

P.S. i was being chased for 25 minutes without even knowing and since they couldnt catch up to me (cop cars have limiters of 125 here) they couldnt clock my speed ...i was coming back from Miami to JAX going around 140 with some other cars :P
