Thanks, I'm now considering getting a 08 Honda Accord Coupe V6 if I cant get a nice clean G35.

Both of the cars the OP linked to have pretty low miles so the prices seem fair.

I've got an 06 6MT with about 80k on it. I really like this car and drive it daily. The biggest shock when I got this car was how poor the interior is. The plastic is cheap, the fit and finish are borderline, the styling is fair, road noise is terrible and there are numerous rattles and squeaks.

I knew about them when I got the car so it wasn't a matter of disappointment. And if this was a 350Z, which is pure sports car, I wouldn't be all that surprised. But, this is supposed to be a luxury coupe and the interior just doesn't get there.

All of this is to say that the only reason a later model, the 08, would appeal to me is that it has the 2nd gen interior like my G35X and it is far superior.....but still has a few problems of its own.

But, that's the beauty of buying used. You pay $14 to $17k and the interior shortcomings are much easier to live with. And right now, despite the interior, I get a kick out of driving my 6MT everyday.

Teach your wife to drive a manual. The 6MT is so much more fun to drive! My wife loves driving mine.

I gotcha and I understand. I'm a bit odd. I like driving the manaul even in traffic. Although, it is worth mentioning, the clutch on this car is very finnicky and takes a lot of getting used to especially when starting off. that does take a little of the fun out of it. Second gear and up is easy shifting.

Just my 2 cents: I bought a used 04 coupe sport October of last year w/ 60k. Like it so far. The most annoying thing was the valve cover oil leak issue. I'm paranoid and completed a tune up, replaced every fluid and filter, and spark plugs right after I bought it. Lucky for me it had a 3 month warranty from the dealer, so I saved about $900 having them replace the valve covers.

i had two MT cars, one was a 91 300z (man, I loved that car) and 99 M3. The Z was awesome cause I drove it mainly in the burbs. Plus the T-top...man, i wish they made more t-tops. The M3, well i drove that car a lot to the city and just got sick of driving it.

if i do get the car, i wanted to get an extended warranty. Not sure how much it would be but they have a link to it.

did anyone else buy an extended warranty through a third party? if so how much?

I don't think the clutch is all that bad on these cars, however driving in chicago traffic would suck that is for sure. That is the only time I don't feel like driving a mt car, is in traffic.

lake Shore Drive is beautiful to drive MT at. it's like a 15 mile highway along side of lake Michigan. At night time, you put some Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight song... Miami Vice style and just cruise.

The only way to tell if the prices are fair is to spend some time on AutoTrader etc and see what they go for in your area. The two referenced cars have pretty low mileage for cars that old.

You also have to look at condition, CarFax reports, number of owners and maintenance records etc.

You also have to look at the specific model. When I was searching for my coupe it was very hard to find any 6MTs in this region. Out of curiosity I check AutoTrader about a month ago and there were zero 6MTs within 250 miles and I live in a very large metro area.

Prices also vary a great deal by region. So just throwing out a number is pretty meaningless if no one is selling for that amount.
