Thoughts on 04 G35 Coupe

Hello everyone, new to the forum.

Ive always wanted a G35 coupe ever since it came out in 03. Now that I'm ready to buy a car soon. I found 2 from the same dealer I'm interested in.

2004 Infiniti G35 Sport - $15,990 - 41k miles, blk/blk.
http://www.chicagocarsdirect.com/web...linois/980321/

and this
2004 Infinit G35 coupe - $17,990 - 28k miles, sliver/blk
http://www.chicagocarsdirect.com/web...linois/996716/

My biggest concern is that the car is 7 yrs old and I dont want to spend money on repairs. This will be my spring/summer/fall car (I live in chicago) since I got a 03 mitsu lancer with 94k miles that dont want to trade in for $500.

Thank you.

My personal thoughts would be 03/04 only...6MT. Avoid the 05+ potential problems with oil consumption. I can't help but feel both of those are over priced. Look on ebay and Auto trader online. You will find a better deal, and if your buying outright and a trade is not a must then why buy from a dealer. Chances are they just got the car at a wholesale auction anyhow.

Thanks Kuneff, I'm looking for auto so both my wife and I can drive. I've never even consider ebay but I'll look into it. Besides the price being too high, should the low miles concern me since its 7 yrs old? I really like the blk/blk.

That car you linked, it's too flashy for me. I'm 38 yrs old and looking for a nice clean classy sports car.

yeah, that one is the link is hideous...

I would seriously check ebay and autotrader.com

and see what you can find close to you where you can go see it first. If your looking for an auto they did not have any oil consumption issues. Only the 6MT 05-07 had those.

I would not worry about the low miles, not everyone drives them daily. Especially in your area you will probably be able to find one that was parked through the winters.

Check and make sure that both windows work correctly... auto up and auto down. That is a known issue. Also door locks. I had both issues on my 03 5AT.

I personally drive an 04 Coupe (6MT), and have like 103k+ on the odometer....Only major thing i have had to do is replace the clutch. My car has the window/door lock issue mentioned above, but otherwise a pretty solid car. And since u want an auto, u don't even have to worry about the clutch. I would think price would be a little lower though. GL with the hunt. I had to drive 90 miles away to get what i wanted...
