heres a funny story. back in 94 my dad bought a brand new acura legend. this was his first luxury car. he was used to only driving his honda which took unleaded gas. not knowing he has to put premium he continued to put unleaded gas jus cus it was cheaper. so weeks later the car would randomly stall. so he took it to the dealer and without ever mentioning about the gas he fills with the dealer was stumped and didnt kno why the car was randomly stalling. so my dad files a lemon suit. and after a few battles he was able to return the car. only years later he realized the issue was becus he was putting in unleaded gas when he should be putting premium lol. he thought it was funny. it was a beautiful car tho

I had an argument with 3 guys at work over reg and premium. One drives an Infiniti and other a Lexus. They say that Prem is a waste. They showed me a CNN article and USA today article that somewhat backed up what they were saying..so i am in the minority

just put in cheap gas if your not going to slam on it all day. It's just a lower octane, thus its going to create knocking mostly at higher rpms.

These threads have been popping up forever and are always just people reinforcing the same statement about not being cheap etc. Seems that you already know the effects or lower octane gas.

5 seconds of searching. This thread is as pointless as all the others.

Personally I never would run anything but 91 unless I was running meth.

I'm not interested in what folks had to say in those threads. I wanted to know how people who were responding to the current increase in prices and I found out. So it wan't pointless to me and the responses have been pretty entertaining. They've also been pretty numerous so maybe I'm not the onl;y one getting a few chuckles.

Running meth or taking meth?

I'm pretty sure if your doing a lot of meth your not going to be too worried about premium. So it goes both ways.

Man I wish I have your gas prices because in Canada it's a $1.26 litre for premium which equals $4.78 a gallon and our dollar is higher right now.

Well, finally we can all agree. Meth is the answer to expensive gas. I can't wait to tell me wife. Every double wide in this county is cooking the stuff so apparently it isn't a secret either. But I'm a little worried that the cost of the meth will offset the savings at the pump. But then again, I won't care at that point will I?

Op, you are quite condescending. For some one who can afford so many things in life, a mere $5 more on gas shouldn't be much of an issue. It's almost as if you are trolling in here.

Chuckle away buddy, it is quite sad that you need to be in a forum and troll around to get chuckles.

Shell gas for me:

Canada: $1.22 per liter (roughly 3.79 liters per gallon)

So: $4.62 per gallon. And the CDN$ is worth more...

So. Everyone from the U.S. complaining..

OMG, get over yourself. You've got no idea how much I've got or don't got. First someone is going to tell me that if I have a nice car I SHOULD be able to afford expensive gas and then when I say, in jest, that I'm rich then someone get's bent about me being condescending. So if I'm poor then I shouldn't be driving a G and if I'm rich I shouldn't tell anybody? Gees.

And there are only a two people in this thread that are taking it seriously enough to get bent about it....wait, now there's three....

How is this trolling? Why does anything in this thread upset anyone? I think humor is like poison for some folks.

Too bad there are not more people on here that work on cars for a living. Look at my name and maybe you can figure out what I do for a living. I guess most professionals just lurk due to the fact that you guys know it all.
