I can totally understand if you don't have a garage working on your G could be a PIA. In the past few years I have a friend that has a shop with a lift that works with my lowered coupe. I take my AMSOIL and K&N filters in and he lets me use the lift. It's cool because I can clean the inside of my Volks along with the undercarriage while it's draining along with checking my tire pressure. Oh yea, I have a very nice clean garage but just got tired of laying on that cold cement floor.... Call me lazy or smart? Wonder if fullvet figured out why his oil light was on?

Hey guys, the light magically went away after I drove the car for a day. I think I'll leave it as it is now.

I enjoy changing my oil and I take my time at it. It's something to do when you're bored out of your mind on the weekends.

oil light does not only mean low oil level, it can also mean low oil Pressure which is equally as bad. Go get it checked out. It could just be the sensor. I believe other people have just had the sensor go.

Use the search.

The oil pressure light does not measure oil level at all - except to the extent that an almost complete lack of oil will certainly affect pressure.

Quote: Not enough time to change oil?

Seriously?

Drive up ramps: 30 sec.
Remove drain bolt: 30 sec.
Time to drain: 60 sec.
Remove filter: 15 sec.
Replace filter: 15 sec.
Refill: 3-5min.

Can you really drive to a oil change place in less time than that?

Lame.. I need ramps.. jacking up the car takes a bit longer. I WISH oil changes were that quick lolol. More like 45-60 mins. Cause I'd need to clean up after and etc. And that damn plastic tray.. that honestly takes more time than ANYTHING else..

Really? You can change your own oil in 7:30 or less? By yourself or do you own your own pit crew team to peform your oil changes for you? You also forgot about the plastic undercarriage. I call BS on your 7:30 oil change.

I work at an oil change shop where u drive over a hole in the floor and with one guy dropping the oil and the other filling the oil when your done it still takes about 10 min and u dont even have to jack up the car or anything. If your doing it at home as far as cleaning up and everything minimum half an hour for sure...

I've never clocked it myself, but I usually find that changing oil is somewhere around a 1-2 beer job.
