powerful pic adon. agree with oneup. this photo puts into perspective just how petty the loss of some cars is. certainly i understand the loss of material goods has devastating effects on world economies now and in the future, but the truly bigger picture here, and the one (imho) that we should put all our focus on at this point, is the loss of human life and the loss of a safe infrastructure for the ppl of japan - and how we can help.

My feelings exactly....^....but that's not how some of our members view the results of the disaster in Japan!

this, always wise words spoken, GaryC.
I understand we all love our cars and etc, but I'm more worried about the people affected, cars can always be made and revamped over time. People who are making them and such may not be as fortunate. You can't put a price on life.

You guys are ridiculous. This is a website that discusses cars made by Nissan. The disaster in Japan does not preclude anyone's right to discuss those cars or how the disaster affects Nissan/Infiniti. And discussing how the disaster affects Nissan does not mean that _anyone_ is cold or heartless. The whole notion is absurd.

The disaster is horrific. The suffering is staggering. But that does not mean we can't discuss the things that are of direct interest to this web site. And doing so does not make anyone here less sympathetic or less understanding. And to suggest otherwise is simply a way of making oneself feel superior to someone else when there are no grounds for feeling that way.

And the irony of course is that those lost cars also represent a human toll. People made those cars. Their work and possibly their income is destroyed. So it's time for folks to get off of their high horses and quit trying to suppress perfectly reasonable topics of discussion. If you are so righteous about this tragedy, get off the internet and go do something to help.

A tad presumptuous at times but overall you make some decent points. I don't think this has anything to do with superiority, just focus. As far as helping, the best thing to do at this point is open up one's pocketbook. Unless one is specifically trained in something needed (rescue, medicine, nuclear) there is no reason to further tax an already crippled infrastructure.

+100000000000000000000 Everyone who was talking about materials/vehicles was simply commenting on the topic not trying to be heartless it's not like were totally ignorant to the fact of whats going on. If you feel that you need to bring the fact up about how many lives were lost then start another thread stating that! No need to make other people feel guilty.
