I understand your attraction to this deal but as much as you might love it now, if it breaks and you can't afford to fix it you won't be so happy. So unless you can do all the work yourself and have access to cheap parts, pass in this ride in favour of something with a better history.

90 K miles.
The things that are wrong with it is that its been in a accident before, Needs new power steering, Needs The front and passenger side air bags and the Front Bumper just needs to be adjusted. Thats about it and the guy is willing to let it go for $4900. There is no "Check Engine" Light on or anything Transmission shifts smooth. Everything is stock in the car except after market deck. What you guys think? Is it a good investment? Should i buy the car? And also what if he drove the car a ruff way? Would it make a difference on how long it lasts? And also how much would a maintenance cost would be for a car like this per month? Please feel free to give me your honest answers i will greatly appreciate it.
This car has been through more than just an accident, to have that kind of damage, it's been totaled. The car might drive smooth to your perception right now, but you might need to test drive a better condition G35 to feel a difference. I, like most others on here would avoid that buy as well. That extra work to save up the rest of the money you need to buy a G35 in better condition is well worth avoiding the hassle of having to fix that thing.

I will tell you from personal experience with buying crashed cars is that it is never worth it, you might say it runs right but most of the time they only fix the "BIG" problems that you can see, there might be other little problems which they didn't take care off which will eventually come back and show themselves, and as earlier suggested do a carfax if your mind is set on getting the car, you never know what other details the owner might be skipping out on.

you can get used air bags from junk yards for dirt cheap (and replace them yourself). they function just fine too. Its getting that SRS unit reset that can be pricey

All that being said, I think there are better deals in the "salvage" category. I saw a 04 6mt sedan in my area sell for 9k non-accident'ed

learn how to fix your own cars and your cars will never give you "problems"

Crashes do strange things to unibody cars. Someone pulled in front of my wife and she t-boned them in her Maxima. She was probably doing about 40 mph. I went to the scene and she and my daughter were rattled by the air bags but had no significant injuries. The front of the car was obviously messed up and that was no surprise. What surprised me was when I tried to get their stuff out of the trunk and it was a little hard to open and once open it would not close back. Even though the car looked perfect from about the mid hood all the way back.....the WHOLE car was affected all the way back to the trunk.

^^^Good example....EXACTLY why I would never buy a car that has been in a wreck.
