Not to offend anyone for innovation but, who cares. A Hemi in a G35. The G35 is going on 5 years old. You could impress me by putting in the V6 from the GT-R or any number of high hp Japanese engines but not big Detroit iron. Hardly a show stopper anymore in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I love my 2003 G35...have had it for 8 years and will probably never sell it. Nothing against G35's just don't get the Hemi.

I have to respectfully disagree with you^^

In my book HP is HP whether it comes from a turbo 6 cylinder or a 6 liter V8. And who cares what motor produces that power? I know a lot of guys on here would nut if I posted an LS2 swap in my G, but would flame hard if I swapped in a Hemi that produced the same power. I just don't get that thought process. I've never been a big Dodge fan, but I would drop one of the new Hemi's in my G in a heartbeat if I had a chance. You wouldn't be able to brillo pad the smile off my face.

The engine adds to the cars character. LS2s are an ancient design and sound like it.

If I wanted to hear a lobing rocker motor I would have bought a firebird for 3k.

The question is why and what is the point. What is the advantage of using a Hemi when you could get similar power from a built twin turbo VQ35. Obviously from the fact that we still have no confirmation that this is a running...driveable car? Have you ever noticed that when they do rebuilds on the many resto shows they always use crate motors. Chevy's in Chevrolets ford motors in the 500+ hp Mustangs. Hemi's in the Chryslers. You won't be dropping a Hemi in your car nor will anybody else on this forum it's not just the engine but, the trans, rear end, etc. You can get similar horsepower more reasonably $$$ building your VQ35.

Just don't forget the trans, rear diff, engine mounts, wiring and of course new rad, cooling system. Why not just buy a new car?

~63 lbs is far from the 'massive' difference you make it out to be.
Don't fret it, my friend. Gary is known to make some asinine posts / replies.

For the same reason that anyone wld restore a car ever!! Rebuilt Mustangs, GTOs, Corvettes, Firebirds, Supras, 240s, 300Zs and the list goes on. Price has nothing to do with it. If you love your car you just love it. I'm abt to do a full rebuild on my G from the ground up. Gonna cost me $20-25K over the next 2-3yrs when I cld easily go buy a 335i or something comparable and newer for that same price. But I wldnt love it as much as I love my G. 7yrs old. 1 owner (me) and I will never sell it or try to replace it. So I understand anyone that wld put that kind of money into a swap... It's LOVE!!
