Next mod?

well my catback claimed something around there and I was pleased with the gains. I think I'm gonna wait till I can afford HFC's, drop in, z tube, and MD spacer then throw em all on at the same time just to see the difference, then run that till I can afford a tune. I have 150k miles so I don't really see building the hell out of the car, might be a good benchmark to call it quits at. not tryin to like race the thing.

^yeah that's what I've gathered, just goin with the tube and drop in. are you saying HFC's after the spacer if I don't do it all at the same time?
oh and what do HFC's do to sound? My car is kind of loud (2.5 inch piping true duals to 4.5 inch tips i think) just curious how the sound alters

ah oh welll may go with HFC's then. but they're a bit expensive... I guess I'll go with K&N drop in, z tube, and a 5/16 MD for my next couple mods? Anyone know gains from Berk HFC's?
oh and, "osiris tune"? most people I know who tune their cars it's because they built the engine or went FI or something, isn't a tune pricey for just doing some simple mods? plus it would really make me never want to mod it again, fearing needing another tune

Eh codey. One thing I'm going to warn you about is the fact that at lower RPMs I was finding my HFCs were a bit on the raspy side. WOT sounds ridiculous... awesome... but anything less guys were poking at me and my new "sexy" exhaust I'd been bragging about. I was really surprised by it.
The guys in here told me that if I wanted to fix that issue to go with ceramic coated cats... like the Berks. Cost a little more but apparently that's the way to go. Unfortunately I've never really looked up why it is that ceramic coated eliminates rasp- I went FI and I've found that Twin Turbos are a really great way (albeit not the most cost effective) to wipe out the bumble bees.

My FI comment was meant more to be tongue in cheek If it's not in your immediate future if at all then I still might suggest the stock cat. At the risk of running lean, go with the HFC. Good indications are knock, detonation and your engine exploding
Mostly kidding-
I was always told if I had a bunch of carbon buildup on my exhaust tips that I was running rich- which is a decent thing. Certainly better than lean in most cases... I suppose if your exhaust tips stay clean-ish that might be an early indicator- but in terms of going more technical than that you'll need to listen to some of these other guys who know more than I do. I'm still pretty green.
