Omg help me asap pls
I am installing a transmission grounding wire right now and I need to know if the rubber around the wire will melt if resting against the headers/cats?
Thanks
Thanks

I ended up just using plastic ties to hold it away from the surface of the cats and the drive shaft so its about an inch away, do you think thats okay Sean? By the way I took it for a test drive and it shifts so much smoother now! I wasn't able to get it to the screw that you showed in your picture though because i have all wheel drive and my front drive shaft is in the way.

I have heard few people with AWD having issues with the transmission wire. I think someone need to make a kit for AWD that has the transmission wire rerouted instead of using a generic kit for all G35. I have couple friends who are local that have the grounding kit and I will try to find a AWD and see how the wire needs to be rerouted. Until then i would look into other options or DIY and cut the wire down to perfect length instead of having to use zipties to hold it away from heat source. This should have been tested and researched during R&D even though AWD are not that common. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.
If anyone is looking for grounding point according to what I have seen online but have not verified it in person yet. I will be making a grounding kit for my manual vehicle even though it makes no difference just to get exact length and some quality sleeves for the wires. I prefer stealth my self and we shall see how this comes out.
1) ECU ground to grounding point on plenum near cylinder 1 (front of car passenger side)
2) PS ground to grounding point on plenum near cylinder 1 (front of car passenger side)
3) Extension from Front of timing cover to same grounding point cylinder 1 (front of car passenger side)
4) Front of timing cover (same location at #3) to Intake mounting point on plenum. (where stock z/g tube screws into plenum)
5)Intake mounting point on plenum (where stock z/g tube screws into plenum) to brake/clutch grounding point.
6) Intake mounting point to plenum grounding point on cylinder 1 (same as Step #1 & #2) (Not sure if this is necessary )
7) Front timing cover to grounding point cylinder 1 front of engine near sensor / coolant hose.
8) Grounding point to transmission
9) Intake mounting point on plenum to grounding point around driver headlight grounding point.
10) Throttle body to grounding point in battery compartment

It's common sense that having any wires touching our headers/exhaust is a very bad idea....they won't survive! You could send the trans wire back telling them you need a longer wire and explain why. Zip ties should be considered a tem fix.
