2013 G coupe
Gotta remember that is an artists rendering and the production vehicles tend to look very different. As far as the use of Mercedes engines. Mercedes make some of the most advanced engines being produced. Their 5.5 liter V8 produces 382 hp. The 5.5 twin turbo new for 2012 produces 402. The new C63 coupe produces 441 and with an optional amg high output package 481hp. Both of the V8s come in the E Class Coupe which is about the size of the G35 Coupe. They're parked side by side in my garage. About 3 weeks ago everyone was clamoring for a 400 hp G37. Well here it is...it will be available as the IPL model. During that thread. I posted that with that kind of horsepower you would be looking at $70,000 and you are. There is just no way to produce cheap high hp motors in vehicles with the high tech gear to compete in this market segment. Someone mentioned the GT-R. It will cost you $92,000 to drive one of the lot. Now with their relative low numbers...how long do you think it will take them to depreciate to $35,000.

Props on the V8 option, disliking the possible $70k price tag for that option and the fact that it looks like a retarded shark that managed to fit itself through a cheese grater.
If they added that V8 and some updated options on the interior and suspension to the first gen coupe body style they'd have an instant winner.
Shiro Nakamura must some very incriminating photos of someone very high up in the Nissan food chain.

I am one of those people. i think the body styles are just getting worse. I wish i could have the first body style with the newer engine.
FIRST of all... the 5.5 Liter V8 with 360 Horsepower? My second car is an SL55 AMG with the 5.5 Liter. Mine is supercharged with 500+ horsepower, but even the NA 5.5 Liter pumps out 400+ HP. Why would they DE-tune it?
Second... I would NOT pay 70K for a G coupe. Thats GTR ranges, honestly. I would also spring for a slightly used Viper, or Vette Z06 or even a ZR-1. Who would pay 70K for a G with 30 more HP? LOL.
This can't be correct.

Strongly disliked the G37 coupe design when it came out, I still think it's overall a mediocre looking car with a horrendous looking rear end. If I was in the market for a new car the G37 coupe wouldn't even make the top 5. I've always liked the current gen G sedan though.
