Probably because Nissan entered into an agreement with Daimler Benz to share technology including engines. It is a hugh plus for Nissan/Infiniti. Development doesn't come cheap and Mercedes already has many high tech engines.

Second... I would NOT pay 70K for a G coupe. Thats GTR ranges, honestly. I would also spring for a slightly used Viper, or Vette Z06 or even a ZR-1. Who would pay 70K for a G with 30 more HP? LOL.

This can't be correct.
The article states upward of 360 meaning over. You and I both know that no MB engine will carry the AMG badge and not put out big horsepower. The AMG division just doesn't work that way. I just don't think Road and Track has any idea of a final horsepower.

As far as the GTR if i'm paying $56,000 for a basically a four year old car (2012s) are almost here. I'm going MB AMG, Porsche, Aston Martin, or Lotus. I'll have to add probably half again as much money but it would be worth it. The first year GT-R had some major problems.

IMHO Infiniti is rapidly becoming a 1-hit-wonder... The g35 came out of nowhere and was/is one of the sexiest cars available. Then they tried to stomp the soul out of what they had created with the g37 and continue to do so to this date with their over inflated feminine styling. Not only is the collosal amount of attitude depleting by the day, their weak attempt at a performance car and their world renowned sub-par interiors really put them below all their luxury car competitors. If they don't figure out their niche and how to fit into it ASAP i predict trouble on the horizon.

Mercedes makes the most reliable engines on the planet. I would rather have an MB motor than a VQ

my parents had a 97 e320. peice of crap was nice but random **** would jus stop working for no reason. they spent so much money maintaining the garbage that they didnt wanna get rid of it. they even tried to baby it and drive it less and random stuff still broke. finally they had enough when the oil was leaking from somewhere inside the motor which wasnt worth fixing and they traded it in

That was 14 years ago...there was a period during the Chrysler/Daimler years when Mercedes suffered quality issues. Since Daimler severed it's relationship with Chrysler those problems no longer exist and haven't for years. Mercedes is again known for building some of the highest quality most technologically advanced vehicles in the marketplace. Advise your parents to try the new 2012 E550 sedan with the twin turbo 402 hp V8.
