Angry nismo?

OK so of course i was bored at work today, nothing coming in the shop so I decided to start looking up parts for the G. First i was a little upset with the tiny section they have in the book, compared to the Z but its was to be expected. I know the Z car is their bread and butter, and a "Nissan" but cut me some slack here. anyways i write some numbers down and walk over to the parts dept. thinking im going to hand my buddy this paper with all these part numbers written down and have a price list and walk out. Nope! all the numbers in the book were wrong big surprise so we went to the Nissan website to pull up everything. Shocker here the barely showed anything so he pulled out his book i guess which was updated. looked up the Z car stuff since the G doesn't exist to them. start scrolling through the pages and see some Nismo camshaft's. I'm like awesome continue reading and it doesn't specify which motor they are for all it says is not for the 300hp engine. Guessing that's the HR but, in the old book they listed 3 different cam's 1 for the VQ, 1 for the rev up motor, and 1 for the HR. that made me think all three were different. Now you I'm finding out that they are all the same? except the HR?

Well thats my rant for today.... What's up Nismo, first my car doesn't truly exist then tell me all the parts are the same. Stop playing with me. as a side note I love my job and our parts dept. this is not a reflection on them lol

The problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

Most USDM Nismo stuff is not that great anyway, the JDM stuff is better but other companies offer as good or better parts. Jim Wolf Technologys offers several different cam shafts for rev up or the Non rev engine they also offer many similar parts as Nismo with OEM quality as well. In my opinion Outside of the aero Nismo is entry level parts at best.

The whole Nissan parts section is a disaster, I went to Nissan for exhaust gaskets and all the numbers were wrong. Had I not had the OE gaskets in hand I would have never got the ones I needed. No wonder parts managers get gray before their time....
