That's why you learn to DIY most of your repairs. The G in an amazingly easy car to work on for the most part and for simple repairs should never be taken to the dealer unless you just don't care about $$$. They wanted $386 to fix my axle click, so I said fvck you and did it myself. Cost me $7 for a tube of grease and took ~ 2 hours.

This thread is a perfect example why most of us only go to the Infiniti dealerships for warranty work, and are skeptical just doing that. My Infiniti service manager asked me why I didn't bring SLICK in for service and I told him, "I'd rather go to Nissan where they charge less and do better work !" Now I have a Nissan mechanic that's trained in everything from the Leaf to the GT-R working in an independent shop if I need major service....life is good!

technicians are union workers in the US. A dealership also costs a lot of overhead for it to work... it is a for profit company....

Yeah like I said I went to get a new remote can't find that anywhere really but when they did a inspection cuz they always do thy said I need a knuckle and a lower control arm been lookin for a DIY for it but can't find anything but they want to charge like 450 for doin the knuckle and 240 for the lower control arm it's just the bushings coming out on them cuz I just got brakes dun on it (at a local brake place not a dealership lol)and looked at it myselfand saw what they were talkin about but the knuckle I didn't see anything wrong with it

Shortly after I bought my G I made my first and last trip to the dealership. $120 to splice a piece of tubing into my windshield wiper line. (Time to diagnose = 2 minutes, labor time = 2 minutes, part cost = $0.07. TOTAL = $120.00 Seems about right)

If the dealer would charge the same price as regular shops do,they will make a **** load more money because instead of people bringing it to other shops they can bring it straight to the dealer.

How about this for what a dealership can do to you....i took the G35 in for a oil change/inspection and the mechanic backed my whole right side against a cement post. Guess who has to pay the deductible? ME. I gave "implied consent" for them to drive my car. Now I have lost value in my car due to the damage AND have to pay to have the repairs done!!
