My 1st car was a 96 5spd mustang that I paid for myself. I learned to appreciate things more, I had that car for 2 years then bought a 240sx an has that for 4 years. I bought my G when I was 21, I have had it for 3 years now... I for one will make my child work for their car, so they can learn to appreciate it as well.. But I am old school.

Rx7?? Unless you or your parents know a ton about a non piston car then it sounds like a bad idea. They aren't the easiest cars to keep but an require a lot of work.

. What my parents did, is I had to become an eagle scout before I could get a car. I got my eagle scout 2 months ago, so then I was ready for a car. They also said that they would match whatever I had saved, and that's what we used to get my G. So I wouldn't say because I didn't pay for the whole thing that I don't appreciate it. I got my Eagle scout which is a pretty rare thing

I got my G35 6speed coupe in my 17tj birthday. Car I had before that was an 08 civic exl fully loaded. (first in the area as it had just came to the dealer) To this day I regret buying that civic. I could have gotten almost any car. But my mom pushed gas mileage so hard I went with the civic to shut her up lol. Anyway lost a lot of money with the civics trade in for the G. Now I have never been in an accedent, excluding my hydroplane because of balding tires.
I see the G as an exclenet 17 year old car. I was embarrassed to be seen in a Honda even though it was fully loaded and nice. The G is classy, handles well, and decent acceleration. I personally will buy my kids a 6 speed if they're still around haha. As far as cops only tickets I've gotten have been 4 tint tickets 5% all around. A cop did harass me. Undercover tried racing me in a double fine zone. I didn't bite. He got behind me and flashed his brights. I changed lanes and he followed 3 times. I turned into a restaurant he followed and durring the turn I proceeded to break check him. Anyway have me a ticket for C&I. I went to court and the piece of **** cop didn't even have the ***** to show.

Basically if the kid is smart and trustworthy (like moi). Go for it. Hell love it and I'm sure his dates will to

Hes gonna be more popular in High school with a G35 so just keep track of what he does and where he goes. I'm sure hell love you x10 more for getting it for him. Its really your call, you know you son best. But be be warn, G35 is a major chick magnet in high school lol

A very fast car for a 17 year old hahaa just dont turn vdc off unless you know how to control it! I got my g37 when I was 17 but where I live it's considered an average car for any 17-20 year old.

G35's come with a big responsibility, my advice is to wait till he gets to college and buy him a beater just to test him. If he is responsible and makes it to college then instead of a g35 get him a g37.

I find it funny how so many of you guys got Gs when you were/are teenagers! Nothing against teens, I was one a scant 10 years ago, but I got into plenty of trouble driving an 89 accord, a 94 accord, and a 2000 accord. Of course, that says alot more about my driving habits than the cars I was in. But if I had my G I can easily see my license having been revoked long ago.

When I bought my G35 (at 27) it was by far the nicest/fastest car of anyone I associate with and almost out of anyone in my immediate and extended family.

Prob did and crashed it and daddy bought him another car.

/shakes head at parents buying their kids cars, whether theyre $5000 or $50,000. Doesnt teach them anything except they're disposable and mommy and daddy will buy me another one if I wreck it.
