GAWD **** Previous owners are killing me
Man oh man do I hate buying a used car. I miss my crossfire dearly that I purchased brand new 08 with 9 miles. I knew everything about that car and all the maintenance / mods down to it. With the G35 the previous owner was a old lady who drove it for 55k miles and then a younger guy in his 30's had it for 1.2yrs. In that time seems like the guy installed an aftermarket stereo and did the front pads / rotor with cross drilled/slotted rotors.
Fast forward to today when I was leaving the parking lot at work I noticed my rear spoiler light was out. I mean totally out not like couple leds on the spoiler were crapped out but all leds were dead. First instinct said fuse and I pulled over and check them one in the driver side kick panel and all seemed fine but I lost the damn fuse puller in the process
Came home and drank some liquor to help me with the trouble shooting that was coming ahead of me. I broke out the fluke multimeter and fu****g tested each fuse it the vehicle and all of them tested fine for continuity including the big fuse box behind the battery and in front of the battery. Checked for power in the third brake light (even though I have no third brake light due to factory Aero kit installed in Japan not portside) third brake light connector had power.
Removed the felt protector on the trunk lid and under the deck lid to check all wires and connection and everything seemed good along with tube connector on trunk. Then I started digging around to find out the previous owner had unplugged the factory connector for the spoiler or the factory forgot to plug it in. I already had a breaker bar holding down the brake pedal and as soon as I plugged in the connector "HALLELUJAH"

.
That was extremely long version and I will give you a cliff notes but please post up your experience working on your car due to the previous owner negligence or mods and your frustrations / cost involved.
Cliff notes
Spoiler leds do not work
Trouble shoot and check all fuses
Check wiring in trunk
Discover previous owner / factory unplugged spoiler connector

If he just forgot to plug the connecter back in that's not bad at all!
Sorry about your frustrations though, I would have probably reacted the same. Glad you were able to get it working!

Cause the sedan is lighter than the coupe and it handles better.
Besides you can take two extra ADULTS without cutting their feet off.

Many reasons and Texasscout hit them on pretty good. I have a baby boi and need plenty of space for his seat and being able to easily remove him from the rear passenger door versus messing around with moving the front seat up and yank him out like the coupe. The manual rev-up version of the sedan is extremely rare like less than 8% of cars were manual sedans. Also the weight is lower for the vehicle and the price was lower as well. I already had a crossfire 6spd and really wanted something practical for long run. Different strokes for different folks.
man..btw loving the rear spoiler light and being able to see my reflection in the windows and see that the led's are functioning. Got plenty of other projects to work on but too little time with family and work going on.
