How exactly do i fi the gas guage issue?

It's gotten to the point where i can deal with it anymore.. I need to fix it, but the DIY i saw seems like it starts from the middle of the process.

Does my car actually have more gas than the guage shows, or is it really loosing the fuel that quickly?

thanks

How much gas are you filling up at the gas station when the arrow is at E?

I notice my gauge when it goes on empty has 2 different times that light up. The first time is when it starts to use my reserve. Then it turns off and goes back up a little bit then the next time it turns on is when its NEARLY empty at the bottom of the gauge. This is to probably warn you but not scare u that u need gas soon.

Ive also noticed that since our Gs have 20 gal gas tanks, I did a little test. I run my car to almost empty so it should be into my reserve, then I fill up 10 gals and see where the needle goes. I was surprised because the needle would be above the middle line. How can this be I only filled up HALF of the 20 gal limit and the needle is ABOVE the middle line.

So I dont really trust my gauge now it seems not exactly accurate. It always tells u that u have less gas than you do. But thats not a bad thing. I usually just go by how many miles since my last fill up.

I am having the same problem on my 03 coupe! payed 40 dollars permium yesterday night. got me from just under 1/4 to just under 3/4..today i had a couple runs and everything. but now im already just under 1/2! i'm aware of the MPG the car should be getting, but there is no way the gas gauge can drop so quickly! i literally must fill up every week according to my gauge, do you guys know how much it would cost for infiniti to fix it? I don't know if they had a recall on it or not. I bought the car a month ago with 75k miles. someone help me as well!

Or or you guys can try not to be lazy and search the forums for the DIY, its so damn simple , but i guess you'd rather spend 400+ on parts to fix it
