cusco catch can installed today *pics*

so a week or so ago i got a few parts from a local guy and one of those parts was a cusco catch can. i had looked at these before but didn't plan on getting one for awhile but, when i was given a great deal i didn't pass it up.

tonite i didn't have much to do so i decided to clean up and polish the catch can and figure out how to mount it. i already knew where i wanted to mount it but just had to figure out how. i ended up modifying the bracket that holds the little spring sensor and used a hose clamp to secure the catch can to the bracket. i just tucked the sensor outta sight toward the fender.

the fittings on the catch can were bigger than the pcv valve and vacuum tube on the manifold. i had to make sure the hose was tight on both the pcv valve and vacuum tube so there wasn't a vacuum leak. i wanted to hide the hoses alittle but, i didn't think making them long and unseen was a good idea as i didn't know if the longer hoses would effect the vacuum. i ended up leaving the return vacuum line long to see if it mattered. i ran it down and then back up into the vacuum tube on the mani. with the engine cover on you only really notice the extra hose between the pcv valve and catch can.

all in all i like the look. when i step back and look at my engine i immediately know i need a jdm battery cover. it's in my plans. i also plan on going with a Z engine cover and polished upper plenum but, i'm not definite. i already have an extra upper plenum and the z engine cover. unfortunately the cover is missing the nissan emblem. i was going to use the weapon r ps fluid tank (seen in the pics) but i changed my mind. just don't think it'll look good IMO. anyway, here's the pics. enjoy.

Fuel line is what you want. FI costs little more and is stronger. What are you using that collapses?

I never liked the line/hose that came with any of my catch cans so I use Gates safety stripe CS101206-25 available at quality auto parts stores. This hose will never collapse or leak...Gary

as far as i know it's just oil line. i'll try the fuel line and see if it's stronger under vacuum.

it's not really high pitched but, i can hear the suction. at first i thought it was a vacuum leak somewhere. i sprayed some carb cleaner around the ends of the hoses and all and nothing changed so i listened near the tank and finally put my ear to it then i could tell that that is where the sound was coming from.
