I go 450 miles on a tank regularly. ~18 gallons is what normally goes in at fill.

I'm guessing that's like all highway right? And do you have a coupe/sedan/sedan AWD?

I have a 2004.5 6MT Sedan. That mileage is about 60/40 HWY/CITY

I regularly average between 24 and 26 mpg. I am by no means light on the throttle either.

I once intentionally tried to get better gas mileage and the best I got was 29 mpg 2 tanks in a row, but it was no fun to drive.

I have never taken this car far enough away from home on a road trip to run it all hwy on a tank.

Side note - my G35 has 128,000 miles on it and is up to date on all maintenance and consumes about 1qt of oil per 3,000 miles.

on average I get about 300 miles and I do 50% hwy + 50% city driving. My best is 360 with about 80% hwy driving.

Just replaced plugs and got a very obvious mpg increase. Mind you, my plugs were black with chalky white tips (extremely overdue).

and there you have it folks a reasonable answer....our cars will get 27+ mpg if driven appropriately whith out full throttle...mine averages 27.4 turnpike @68mph

most of the people complaing do not know how to check MPG...which is simply FILL tank on level surface, record your mileage...drive a good distance say 60+ miles stop at the same station if possible or another with FLAT surface, fill tank, note total mileage Driven and DIVIDE gas consumed into total mileage driven
I would bet most complainers would be surprised.

I used to get like 9-12 per tank; I'm getting about 18 now per tank. Fixed some exhaust leaks, sticking calipers, and found some vacuum leaks. Also, stuck in some BG44K to help clean the system out.

501.1?

My last 3 tanks were 397.3, 400.1, and 501.1. Just returned from a trip to NM and Colorado. Slower speeds in the mountains really help my gas mileage. The 501.1 was until the light came on, 17.055 gallons. For a personal, 10.6 year, best mileage of 29.376 mpg

My overall gas mileage went from 21.154 to 21.219 over this time. And if it wasn't so late, I would have filled up for an estimated 26mpg on the last tank.

Just returned from a round trip from New Jersey to Florida.

My G37S gets excellent mileage on the road. All on regular 87 octane

Four fill ups on the way down and four fill ups on the return

Best MPG on the way down from NJ to Emporia, Va 380 miles and 13.839 gallons to fill up for a 27.46 MPG

Not so great on short trips in Florida over a 2 week period

My best MPG was on the final fill up from Ashland, Va to NJ
300 miles and 10.529 gallons to fill up for a 28.49 MPG

I have the fuel guage issue like many of you with 2004 or earlier cars. Just hit 81000miles. I use my trip meter after every fill and I noticed that right around 310miles my gaslight would always come on. But when I'd fill up gas it would only take 55 liters or so. (20Gallon tank = 76liters) Meaning I have 20 liters still to go. Now that I know my fuel gage is stupid, I did some math as to what kind of milage I should be getting per tank and it's right around 450Miles. That's to nearly empty mind you, but I really want to test out my theory. I think I'm going to grab the lawn mower gas can and fill it up with premium gas and strap it down in the trunk. Then I'll just drive until it dies. Then I will know where my drop dead range should be.
