that's kind of awesome. How much does it cost to upgrade the AT to MT?

Upon 2nd thought, what about just installing the extra pedal the same way there's that brake in a drivers ed car?

If you don't enjoy rolling your own gear, or keep the rev at exactly where you want it to be and when you want it to be, then MT is no fun ...

Look, with the MT, you need to operate 5 controls with 2 hands and 2 feet, it can get busy. Its more work, you can stall, you can mis-shift and blow up the engine, you can mess up the transmission or burnt the clutch if you don't use the clutch pedal proporly, makes it more difficult to eat/drink/text/dial/and do other stuff when driving (), you need to use the park brakes when start from a steep hill, you have tiny center console and cup holder, you will lose the center rear vent for AC, it takes skills and effort to drive it, most people can't drive your car, 6MT gets worse mpg than 7AT, you need to press and hold the clutch pedal down and press the start button upon start, its noisy ...

seriously ...

its seriously worth it if you enjoy driving

and the feeling of a perfect rev match down shift ...

A lot of people (including myself) complained about the heavy and sensitive clutch. This was when I first got the G. After driving it for awhile and comparing it so many manual cars, there really is a reason why its so stiff.

I noticed when I drove cars with "lighter" clutches, it felt really unnatural. Feeling the catching point was a little harder and it made the car feel really cheap. Almost like i was driving a Honda. A 2012 335i shouldnt feel like that.

When i got back into my G it felt like home. Heavy, sensitive, grabby clutch and all. Besides all cool cars are MT and have heavy clutch!! =D

In terms of what? The tiptronic + Transgo valve body kit will shift faster than any of those.

Possibly but lets not forget drivetrain loss being greater than 15%-20% like manuals but instead 25%-30% drivetrain loss. Shifting faster but moving slower.....

i don't think i can agree to this

Honda S2000 and Mazda Miata both have awesome clutch feel and tight transmission.

But of course, neither one of them are designed to handle the +250lb-ft of torque from the get go

If you race, sure. Shift speed matters.

How many G35 guys race? Less than 1%? How many of those 1% are actually competitive and not just a slow moving blockade on the track? Even fewer.

I can understand what you're trying to get at...but that's not the best argument. That's like saying "if you race, sure, hp matters." Just because you're not a professional race car driver doesn't mean you can't want the most effective/impressive setup. If that was the case, there would be no need for any of us to have cars that do over 70mph.

If you drive on the street, I don't see why you need to be shifting super quick.
