What gear are you in and what RPM/mph when crossing the quarter mile line?

I had 3.55 in my 470 rwhp Mustang, and it would barely make it into 4th gear in the quarter, it was just too tall of a gear for drag racing. Lots of folks run 4.10s and put them getting close to the redline in 4th gear crossing the line, which is ideal. Depends on the height of the tire as well, and the rpm you want to be at crossing the line.

Then again, on the street, it would spin through the first three gears, so I see your point about too low of a gear can be useless. Spinning ain't winning. I ran DR's on the street and still spun, so it is what it is.

But if you can hook up, low gears on the street can really blow some traffic behind you.

Roughly 5300-5500rpm in 4th gear. A little different than the Mustang.

But yes, a car modded with taller gearing to excel on a drag strip is going suck off the track with street tires. Which is why a 3.9 or higher on a street driven G35 with 500+whp is just impractical.

debating if i should pay 700$ or so to dyno and tune my car w/ uprev.. or just to save that towards a single turbo kit for this summer, since i'd have to re-tune and dyno it again and waste more $$ ... decisions...

you have what a spacer, art pipes/intake and exhaust?
If the turbo is truly eminent in the near future might as well hold off

Compression rod time this weekend. Still riding on the original compression rods and bushings. Long overdue.
