Replace the low beam with Philips X-treme D2R bulbs, claim to be 50% than the stock "regular" Philips. And they are, I would say they are double the light of my stock bulbs, which could possibly be the ten year old ones from the factory.
Also replaced the fog/Hi beam with Philips X-treme halogen bulbs, which claim to be 150% brighter... which I would say is also a fair estimate. The low beam is a nice, wide pattern, and the high beam is insane. Not the best "spread" using the high beam, it has a very narrow beam that shoots out very far, but not that wide at all. Probably more of the reflector's fault than the bulb. Also the passenger side high beam fires a little to the left (even though the low beam seems fine), so when you kick in the high beam, they both go straight into the oncoming traffic lane at eye level. Needless to say, these will blind oncoming traffic, big time.
Also replace the front side markers with some black frame, clear lense markers. Much better output than my old "smoked" lenses that seemed to "suck" water every time it rained. Seal on the new ones is much better, so hopefully no more foggy lenses.
Overall, much better lighting than before.

What I've done this month
Started off the month with a new set of tires for the coupe. About 3 days later fried my clutch, so I went with the JWT clutch flywheel combo. Also picked up the 5/16 spacer, stillen ztube and high flow intake. Figured while I was doing that I'd change the spark plugs since I just hit 90k. They looked like **** so I picked up some NGK iridium plugs to put in. In the process of changing them I noticed oil in number 6 so had to get a new valve cover. The damn thing is going to take a week and a half to get here so it's been about a month of my car being down and not the most friendly to the bank account. I'm itching to get it all fired up and running again.

Yes, the 2003-2005 G35s use D2R size bulbs. The 06+ use D2S.
Yes, they are pretty pricey. I got them from hidconcept on sale for around $130 a pair, regular $180 from them.
I would say they are worth it, since my old bulbs were pretty dim for HIDs. They probably were ten years old, so time for them to go. If your low beams are looking good, I probably wouldn't bother, but mine were in sad shape, so figured why not go ahead and get the X-treme over the ebay no name bulbs. I've heard a lot of horror stories on the ebay no name bulbs, blow after a week, don't fit right, flicker on and off, etc.
The Philips are a perfect fit, which makes sense because they put in Philips at the factory.
