Changed out my rear brake caliper.

I can confirm that the awd brakes are smaller than the rwd brakes. Ordered an awd caliper by mistake, and the mounting bracket was too small, luckily the caliper/piston side was exactly the same so just used my old mounting bracket.

No more dragging brakes, maybe my mpg will go back up. LOL!

Anyone ever replace their rear strut bushings? I cant seem to find a way to get the old bushing out while its on the car. I cant remove the entire spindle as thats what the brakes and everything are attached to. Ive used a bushing press like they use for ball joints but it dosnt fit in that area for that bushing.

Any suggestions?

Torch and sawzall. Burn out the rubber then use a hack saw or sawzall to slightly cut the outer aluminum ring.

Ok great thanks, I'll go buy a sawzall now. Any idea what tool should be used to press the new one in? I'm worried even after I remove the sleeve the standard tool kit to remove and install them won't fit in place to push the new one in. Either way I'm just gonna go cut that sleeve out. Have about 6 more hours of light for the day.

Thanks!

No way you'll get it in without a press.

I am doing all whitelines as well. But instead of downtime, I picked up used knuckles, new arms and subframe to have powderd and bushings installed.
