G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

You can pick up an Escort 8500/X50 for around $150 used if you look around. That's a hell of a deal on a good detector.
Drive within the speed limits, (sorta) be aware of how's around you at all times and use a little common sense you can save the cost of a detector! Probably not what you wanted to hear....Gary
Now days "ticketing system" is designed to bring profit and not to make streets safer. So you have to be well equipped in order to not become a victim of that system.
Even speed cameras are positioned in such a way that they catch people in a higher speed zone than the one they are enforcing. Such are school zone speed cameras locally. They position them at the edge of the speed zone, looking over a higher speed zone, but still send you a ticket for going over the speed limit when in fact you were traveling legally within the zone you were in at a time.
So with radars it helps to know where those things are and when you are out of their beam.
I have been researching radar detectors for sometime now and really am on a coin flip if i get the V1 or spend less money for a fairly good Beltronics since its the same as a escort. I dont drive as much as well so dropping 400 on a V1 when could prolly find a just as good choice elsewhere for around 200. What to do what to do.
you can find a good used V1 for $200.
I owned my V1 since 2006. For 6 years it only went bad once. I shipped it back to V1 and got a replacement. I don't remember when that happened and it if was under the warranty or not, but I was impressed on how they stand behind their product.
In 6 years of use it saved me much much much more than $500.

yeah my 9500ix is a ****ing beast.
red light cameras and speed cameras are all mapped out on it via GPS. It does an incredible job with radar, too
Here's the way I look at it. When you buy a radar detector, you basically buy your first speeding ticket. You shouldn't get one after you invest.
Oh P.S., i have this mount, and it's amazing. You should look into it. Then I have the invisicord running from the detector to my rear view mirror for power. Super clean.
