Nah it stayed on but cracked my cf hood underneath, so that'll have to get re fiber glassed too.

I had a similar issue happen to me when I had my 01 eclipse. Got into a wreck, drove her home. Later the next day, I was driving her to the repair shop and the whole hood latch gave out. My OEM hood flew back at 55 mph, absolutely obliterated my windshield, dented the roof, cracked my sunroof, and scared the living **** out of me! I was lucky I didn't get glass in my eyes :/

haha i don't think i'd be too afraid of glass flying at me....seeing as i've had the privelage of shooting an entire clip of m4 rounds through a front windshield while in the passenger seat lets just say that was an experience....

That really sucks, sorry to hear about the incident. $1300 seems fair for all that work

damn it flew off at 40mph?

Does it still use the stock latch plus the pins? Or just the pins?

That seems odd if it just flies off even with the stock latch.

That's a big fear of mine! Sounds really scary. I think the amount to repair that damage though sounds somewhat reasonable.

Damn, my hood scrapes my fender every time I pop it. Wish mine did this for insurance money!
