anyone else notice louder engine after tb spacer?
so i recently got a throttle body spacer and after the install i noticed my engine was louder. i like the bit of added power in the low end. i just dont care for the increased volume of the engine/exhaust. did anyone else notice the same thing?
it's been about a week now and i suppose it's time to go and retorque the bolts. i don't have any leaks or anything but, i'm sure with the heat and all they've backed out a bit. anyway, anyone else with the throttle body spacer please chime in. i'm interested in seeing what you have to say.

The TBS doesn't make noise!
Once installed correctly those TBS bolts shouldn't back out, mine has been in since '06 without issues. If you think it's making noise maybe it's not the right one for your VQ motor or it was installed wrong sadly could be just more eBay junk! Did it come with longer bolts and o rings?

yea it came with longer bolts and o rings. the tb isn't leaking but, i swear i can hear the engine more. it's not like a vacuum leak or anything. i can just hear my motor and exhaust more. it's not a big problem. just wondering if anyone else noticed the louder engine. my testpipes are leaking right now and that's definitely not helping. as far as the bolts, i usually like to recheck bolts after they've been on the car about a week after an install.

It does add a cool sound to the intake. It's definitely noticeable.
As far as added power, I feel alittle more power throughout the powerband but it's more noticeable in the low end. It's definitely work the $60. I've read it increase your mpg as well. I'm still on my first fill up after the install so I'll be able to tell more when it's time to fill up again. If there is any increase in mpg then it'll pay for itself eventually, which is what I like.

i had an Airaid TBS on my chevy colorado and it sounded awesome! coolest intake suction/whistle sound you can get for less than $100. the sound changed based on the position of the butterfly, quarter gas made the coolest noise but full throttle had no noise... as far as the motor being louder it shouldnt have any effect on that. I never noticed any gains or mpg but it definately was worth it just for the sound.

I guess with my intake & z-tube I never noticed the TBS making a new noise. They've been tested several times and show zero gains in RWHP. Like I posted before, I installed mine in '06 and never noticed much difference. I keep in shined and never felt the inclination to remove it so she's still there not doing a hell of a lot.

not doing anything but, looking FLY!!!!

i guess it does look pretty sweet with other polished stuff in the engine bay if you go that route. i actually havent looked to see if you can see mine with my engine cover on or not.
