G35 for a next car?

Hey guys, just joined the forums here. I know there are MANY G35 enthusiasts and experts on this forum and I myself am strongly thinking of getting a G35 for my next car. As of now and for the past year and a half or so I have been driving a 1991 300zx TwinTurbo, I guess you could say my Z is pretty rare as it is Veilside's original show car they would use to advertise the combat body kit way back in the 90's when the kit came out by Veilside, bought that Z for around $8500, have put another $1300 into the safety ($1000 of it went into new tires -_-.) It is in pretty mint condition but is undergoing an electrical problem at the moment but after that is fixed it will run MINT. Not sure how much I can re sell the car for I mean it has some disconntinued parts on it but I sure as hell know I'm going to be spending around $24,000 - $27,000 on a G35. Was wondering if this is a good price range for a G35? Maybe not the 1st or 2nd year they came out but something slightly newer, and of course owning a 300zx that REALLY stands out I would be looking at getting a top of the line exhaust for the g35, intake, headers, and not sure what else to get for a G35 maybe you guys can help me out on what to mod to make it hella nice but yet still have a reliable sports car? Anyways let me know on the price range and what I could do with the money. Thanks guys!

First off I love the 300zx TT, gratz on having that I've had a couple friends that had them they seem like fun cars. For 24k-27k you should be able to buy a G37!! If you are going to get a G35 and want a new one then just get the VQ35HR version which I think goes from 2007-2009 or so.

I own a 2003 coupe so my N/A mods and ideas will be slightly different than a newer G, but some suggestions if you are wanting to keep it N/A.

Revised Airbox/Stillen intake/JWT popcharger + z tube
Motordyne Plenum Spacer (For you I think its the Mrev 2)
Osiris Uprev (Great tuner stuff with this)
Exhaust (I personally like the Motordyne ART pipes and TDX2 catback exhaust)
4.083 gears (If you plan on staying N/A)
A nice set of coilovers and a camber kit (I have BC BR Coils and SPC Camber kit)

Otherwise use that search button lots of people with different ideas from if you want to stay N/A those are things i would suggest to start out with. FI is a complete different story and you will need to do tons of research on that.

Good luck!

Yeah gonna start doing some research on G35/G37's. But ya Im just looking for a G35 that looks very clean, a little stanced maybe a little bit of camber, lowered and just something that people will straight up appreciate as a luxury JDM car. I plan on keeping it N/A as I have gone through a turbo well twin turbo car and its nothing but unreliability issues. Not sure how a G35 is turbo'd but I don't know if I would want to go back to a turbo'd car honestly unless it was factory turbo'd and a new car...Otherwise thanks for the input. So with like $4000 in performance upgrades how much hp could I look at out of an N/A?

G35s are great! After owning an A4, S2000, 240sx... the G35 is my all time fave. It has all the creature comforts youd like, great styling and power... Good decision you are making

Gotta say, I love all things GReddy - and you should consider their line of products! Great looking, performing and sounding stuff!

I have had 5 300zx's all twin turbo my last being a 94TT. Traded that car straight up for my g35 coupe.

Even though your car was used my veilside it won't have much of an effect on the value. The combat body kit is a really hard sell not many people like it. If its in good condition with low miles you should be able to get close to what you bought it for.
