i just picked up a 2003 g35 6mt. i am trying to figure out what to look for to know whats been done to the car. its a higher mileage cash car i plan on using as a commuter daily driver.

what i know is the rear tires are too small at 275/35/18's; fronts are great, injen cold air with cone filter, large red sways front and rear, some kind of cat back exhaust.

how would i look for spacers on the intake or mrev 2 intake if it has that, and how would i find out if the ecu tune has been changed?

i can tell you this car felt faster than the other g's i drove, and idk where the rev limiter is but i can shift past 7k.

The 275s are fine, there's no advantage in having any larger tires out back. What size are the fronts....245s? The red sways are adjustable Stillens, good sways. You probably don't have a Motordyne MREV2, those were for '05+ MT with REVUP motors. You may have a Motordyne 5/16" spacer, look between the upper/lower plenum. You have clear sides that replaced the OE amber units. After market bumper and lip, can't be 100% sure due to the angle of the pic. Nice G for what you probably paid for it....Gary

thanks for the info. rears being too small is referring to the tire height, not width. i need to go to a 40 series tire to be factory tire height and get my front to rear tire ratio in order. i will look for the spacer next chance i'm under the hood.

any info on ecu? rev limit or do these cars have rev limiters?

also i don't have a shift light on dash, but i think i seen somewhere that it is adjustable with the trip reset?

More pictures and people can tell you what is on it...pictures of the exhaust, pictures of the engine bay...etc

i will try to get some more pictures, but it will probably be tomorrow before i can post them. the engine bay to me looks stock except the cover is off, pulley's are aftermarket, and there are ground wires everywhere. i don't know if it will tell much.

On the 03-04 6MT models like your own, the farthest you can rev is 6800 before you crash into the rev limiter. At the very least, you are tuned with a rev limiter delete. You should have a dyno done after you figure out all the power mods you have. Then you can take a look at your air/fuel ratio and determine if its been tuned. Also, the shop you take it to should be able to identify a tuned motor. Post up some more pictures. That's a clean ride for a cash car. Just lose those wheels, you will brake, accelerate and corner better with a lighter OEM wheel like the 19"Rays on the 05-07 Sport package!

Also a short-throw shifter (6MT guys will probably know which one) and OEM Brembo brakes, which is a nice option. Car needs a drop, mayyyybe switch out those wheels, then will look ****.

i'm afraid the wheels will have to stay for a while, my wife won't like or understand me buying new wheels, but I've seen some nice ones i like for good prices.

i'm not sure if i have a short throw shifter or not, it doesn't seem short but the **** is a nismo piece. also one of my big complaints are its a bit hard to get into some of the gears at times so i'm hoping there is a worn wear bushing or something somewhere that will fix that.
