This is why you check for service records or any before you buy a car. You only posted part of the Vin# btw

btw, it cant be 2007, it came out as a second gen as 2008 model.

Glad everything worked out. I wouldn't touch that car if they gave it to me. Such a beautiful car to be abused like that +1 for putting this info out there so others don't get screwed. GLW the search for a new G.

How the hell do you buy a car without checking its oil/fluids?
First thing I do when I go to look at a car is pop the hood, check tranny & engine oil and see coolant level. I also let the salesman start the car while I stand behind it watching for smoke out of the exhaust.

All said and done, i would never keep this car, if something as simple as an oil change was neglected. Who knows what other problems are hidden?

Fluids were checked and when i checked the dipstick everything was fine. It was until Infiniti gave us the service history we realized it had a sludge issue.

Terrible luck, sorry to hear about that.

If you're interested I'm probably putting my 07 G35 S 6-speed up for sale with 38k miles in the next week....I unlike the person who had the car that you bought, maintain the car regularly

Very tempting, but he is dead set on the G37.

I will post pics of our G37S when it arrives next week though.

It's possible to save this poor neglected G by having the engine flush done then pull the oil pan and clean it like new. Followed by using a quality synthetic oil/filter for the next 1K miles and changing it. I feel it's possible to make it's internals happy with the right synthetic oil like AMSOIL. Only concern w/b ring wear which would require an extended warranty....Gary
