no need change diff fluid?

So went to Infiniti today to get some manual n diff fluid. Then parts guys asks me why do u guys like changing the diff fluid? I said Idk I've jus read Ur supposed to. Then he says u don't the fluid from factory is really good n not the same as the OEM bottle. So I'd be wasting it by changing it out. And the Nissan techs never recommend changing it not even at 100k miles.

Any real techs here's can confirm what he said?

Also jus noticed the owners manual doesn't really say anything bout wat mileage to change the manual n diff. But I'm still gonna do the trans atleast.

Just change out whats in there right now and you will start doing it every 30k.

pretty sure my car had OEM fill at 89k and what come out at the last part before it started dripping was pretty ****ing nasty.

I had the same question so I looked through the entire service guide. For the Premium. Maintenance, it says to change every 30k miles, but nowhere in schedule 1 or schedule 2 do they say to replace it.

I would change it. There's still metal on metal contact taking place within the diff so changing the fluid makes sense. I've never heard anybody recommending to not change the fluid before.

Both the online maintenance schedules for Nissan and Infiniti say to replace the fluid every 30K.

what I meant is that I looked at every service interval from 0-120k miles and the premium maintenance is the only one that lists changing it every 30k ( schedule 1 and 2 never list changing them, just inspecting I think. ) I will post the PDF that I have tomorrow.

All fluids in a car deteriorate with age and use, it makes sense to replace the old with new. I replaced all the fluids in my car as soon as I got it. I used redline for the tranny and diff.

Does the diff work that hard that it needs to be changed more often then the other fluids? 30k miles seems a bit often while the trans is changed every 60k miles. And the trans works harder I would imagine.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Remember that when you do a drain and fill on the trans, you're only replacing ~ 1/3 of the fluid. When you replace the diff fluid you're replacing it all. I replace diff fluid every 60K miles and that seems to work fine. I wouldn't push it to 100K, it only takes about a quart and a half and 30 minutes so why not??

Here is the service guide I looked at. I will probably be changing them every 30k to be safe.

Read your Infiniti manual, it recommends changing ALL fluids every 30K miles. If you like/respect what you drive I suggest you follow there advice. I'm running AMSOIL synthetic gear oil because SLICK like it....

So no Nissan techs wanna chime in?

The premium service also has changing the belts , rad cap, coolant, wipers ,trans, diff every 30k. U guys changing the belts, coolant, rad cap that often too? Which seems a bit extreme n jus money for Infiniti. Then on the schedule 1 doesn't mention replacing trans n diff oil at all lol. Jus inspect. Weird.

^Belts are as required, they are easy to inspect. Coolant and cap are most likely overkill for 30K. Everything that uses fluid as a lubricant(engine, trans diff) should be changed out the most frequent.
