Smile Keys in the Trunk: Infiniti G35 Sedan

Hello All,

I've Infiniti G35 Sedan. I locked the keys in the trunk. I called the Locksmith and they helped me open the driver's door which triggered the alarm. I believe because of the alarm the button below the wheel doesn't work to open the trunk.

I have read 20+ posts about how to solve this and most of them suggested to pull the red tassel behind the back seats. I have noticed that there's no red tassel in G35 Sedan (2004) but there's one in Coupe.

I now have all the 4 doors unlocked but the keys are still in the trunk.

Can anyone please suggest how can I open the trunk or remove the back seats to reach inside the trunk?

Thank you for looking into this.

Best,
Jai

Sorry for the late response but I don't come here much these days. Hopefully you've solved your problem but here's what you can/could have done. Take out the bench seat bottom by pulling up sharply first on one side then the other. The seat is held in place by a series of clips so it comes out easily. This will expose bolts to remove the center armrest assembly. Once it 's out you can remove the seat backs by unbolting them. This would give you enough open space to get to your keys. HTH.....

Reach through the ski hole, the manual trunk release is attached to the trunk lid.

Check the switch for the trunk in the glove compartment box thing. Otherwise the button to open the trunk may not work. Also, I'm pretty sure it is required that there is a handle inside the trunk somewhere to release the trunk lid. Pretty sure, not 100% though.

Hmm, why wouldn't the '04 sedans have a trunk release on the dash like the coupes? Is that the cost of having two extra doors?

Gary as Adrian above you said, the sedan trunk release switch is in the glove compartment.
