Newbie with Oil Consumtion questions

I just bought an 07' G35 Coupe w/AT and a VQ35DE engine.
The car only has 30k miles on it.
Is this car prone to the Oil Consumption issue I've read about?
I noticed I was down a quart after 3k miles.

Thanks

You have oil consumption on a 2007 i thought they fixed that issue after 06 VQs,my 03 Maxima is going through some oil(but I drive the rings out of it) and it does 1-1,5qts per 5k miles maybe 2 ************************

Infiniti will tell you one quart in 3K miles is normal! With only 30K miles on your clock your G must have had a rough upbringing. Just check your oil level once a week, topping it off when needed!

All VQ35DE engines are prone to oil consumption. Whether or not your car actually has it is really luck of the draw. A quart after 3k is a bit high. "Normal" would be around 1/2 after 3k.

OP has an 07 COUPE, so still has the same VQ at 03-06. OC issues seem to have been resolved in the 07+ HR & VHR engines.

Thanks for the reply.

One follow up question on oil consumption.

Does it matter if you have a manual or automatic transmission?

OP please familiarize yourself with the forum rules and always read the headers of each sub-forum. This one said specifically "No car questions" so I'm moving it.
