Ahhh can’t get use to clutch!!

Hi I have a 04 G35 sedan with 140k miles that I picked up about a year ago and barely drive it due to fear of driving manual in certain situations.I been having an issue lately when I shift and release the clutch I end up releasing it super slowly but still get a jerk forward no matter what.I drove a hour on the highway with no problems at all but once I got off to the street I ended up doing this about 6 times my whole ride home. Will doing this to my clutch cause any future damage??

Take a class on using the manual trans. You shouldn't be having issues, but it just sound like a stall.

Also, you could try and have a friend drive it for you to see if it's you or the car

Practice, practice, practice!!! You're making this out to be harder than it is. Unless the clutch and/or transmission are having issues it's just a matter of finding the right technique that works. You'll never get there if you avoid driving.

I recommend doing this simple clutch mod. It's cheap and easy to do. I ran this mod for 9 years without issues. It works.

I've driven a manual car since I was 15. The stock clutch on these cars is by far the hardest to get used to. They have a "helper spring" in the pedal assembly. It is supposed to make the heavy pedal easier to use, but I found that it takes away all pedal feedback, basically you can't feel the engagement point if the clutch. So you end up with jerky launches or rough 1,2,3 shifts.

I spent the money on the RJM AFP clutch pedal years ago and still stand behind it as being the best driveability mod on this car. They've made some revisions over the years, so the price of the pedal has gone up, but it's totally worth the cost.

These cars weren't cheap to mod when new, and prices haven't come down a whole lot despite this platform being sub-$10k cars now.

If you have a socket set, long extension, and some pliers, you can pull out the clutch pedal helper spring and adjust the switches to take up the slack.

night and day difference, and free! Slighter harder than stock, but linear and consistent with great feel. Still a little high for my liking though.

Also reccomend the clutch coin mod above, just don't overdo it
