Does anyone have experience with coilover installation? I thought they were supposed to have 2 locking rings at the top (spring rate adj) and 1 locking ring at the bottom (height adj). Mine only has 1 locking ring on each end, could this possibly be a defect ??

Normally the spring preload is a double lock nut but it looks like they changed the design and now use that allen hex clamp on it instead.

Take a better picture of it.

Okay that makes sense. Any idea what that thin
squiggly ring at the very bottom is ? It feels super flimsy and I feel is meant to be taken off via wire cutters.

The spring ring at the bottom is a sort of locking mechanism for the lock nut at the bottom. And yes after seeing that picture they did indeed revise the upper dual lock nuts and that allen hex is now the locking mechanism for the upper spring preload locknut.

Make sure to set the preload the same on both sides, I strongly recommend using a sharpie to make sure you have the same tension on each or one side will feel distinctly weaker than the other. There should have been some instructions for setting preload but normally you bottom out the lock nut by hand then turn it up to 3/8" tighter (usually like 2-3 more rotations of the lock nut) depending on how you want the spring rate set. There's usually a chart that tells you how tight to set it.
