It's from the seals for the stub shafts on the differential. This happens when the differential isn't ever maintained, basically you end up with a lot of metal in the gear oil in differentials, if you don't change the fluid to remove this metal it ends up destroying the seals as the metal glitter rubs on the rubber seals.
If it's not DRIPPING on the ground I would just change the diff gear oil and call it a day.
Maintenance interval for the differential is every 30k miles.

Thanks again...
Looked into it. I guess ill need a slide hammer for the job.
When inserting the new axle shaft seals... do I grease the inside and outside of the seals? is there a nissian service bulletin or anything that specifies to do so? I'm sure the inside.... where the stub shafts slide into... but what about outside the rubber seals? where they seat onto the receiver groove.

I've done it both ways, it can be tricky to find the right angle with a prybar since you can't pry against the teeth of the wheel speed ring. Last time I wedged a piece of wood against the subframe to get my prybar in the right orientation, firm tap with a sledgehammer on the prybar and it came right out, that's probably how I'll do it in the future unless I already have the axles completely off the vehicle. A slide hammer is definitely easier IF you have the axles out.
They seat into the differential carrier just like a normal internally seated CV axle, regular friction ring on the end to retain it.
