Rear differential fluid change, part 2

So, ~900 miles ago, I changed my rear diff fluid. Had 91,000 on the ticker, and I don't think it had ever been done. I was very surprised at the black metal sludge on the magnet, but after reading a lot of posts, found that to be normal.

So, concerned that it wasn't completely flushed and there was still some metal particles all over the gears, I flushed it again today....

Here are the results after 900 miles:

And here, you can see already how dark that fluid started to get.
The fluid that is dripping out is "overflow". You can see the "ring" it is making in the pan as it dripps into the old dirty fluid...

Believe me, it's completely normal. There is nothing out of the ordinary happening with your diff.

Nice pics dude. I agree, there is nothing wrong with your car. I changed fluids for two years in high school and all cars have metal shavings on the magnetic plugs, whether it is a diff or engine oil.

i just changed mine out for the first time last week, and due to your previous post, was prepared for what i saw...it was the same thing. i was planning on doing another flush after track day last friday, but decided to wait until the next 30k mile interval (even though it's only for "inspection").
