No more non infiniti oil changes
The oil change in my G35 (done by the PO) was at a Nissan dealer and they used Pennzoil....I don't think Infinity has an "oil" per se.....they just get a good deal on 55 gal drums of something and want to sell that to you at a premium price.
Oh, I totally agree, that the oil infinity is using is just a good quality one, that they've got a break on and sell it at a mark up. I pretty sure its not better than Penzoil, or Castrol, or QuakerState or even Mobil 1.

Guy's, Here is a little trick I have done for years and it works just great.
Just before an oil change, I add about 1/2 quart of (ATF)tranny fluid. This stuff cleans real good and it does thin out the oil some. You can drive your car normal for a day or two and then your set for an oil change. Make sure your engine has been running right before the change. You want your oil hot when its drained. You will see a clean dip stick after your oil change.
As far as oil filters went. I always scribed the date on the filter when I installed it. Very simple.Pasta

yarrgh.. man.. you could just use a good detergent oil
I used Mobil DriveClean (mineral) for awhile and had zero varishing or sludge (from looking into the vavle covers). I've got 70K on our Pathfinder on mobil 1 (syn) and it looks brand new in there.

I spoke with the service manager today at Southbay Infiniti about bringing in my own oil to have it changed and they had no problems with it not being from Infiniti. He told me that it would be somewhere around $18-20 if you bring in your own oil. If you run into any problems ask to speak to the service manager. He doesn't have a problem with you using your own oil.

I ask my dealer a few months ago and they wanted $80 for a mobile 1 change. I didn't ask what it would be if I brought the oil in myself. There's no such thing as "infiniti oil" they buy it by the drum from whoever they contract with and then stamp an artificial approval on it. Its all a ploy; I wouldn't trust that dealer just for giving me lines like that.
