Thumbs down Too good for VDC!?

Chime in~ I wonder how many people here firmly believe VDC is a waste of electricity and wish cutting a wire would diable the whole system?

I also wonder how many bends, scrapes, fender benders, and totals have occured that could have been prevented by VDC? How much money has Initial D cost teenage drivers in the last 5 years?

What happened to modern drivers? Are we so spoiled that we no longer know how to drive a FR properly? Are we so incompetent Nissan was forced to have VDC control on 100% of the time even when we wish to switch it off? What happened to AutoX, track schools, safety driving clinics?

Sorry, just had to rant.

Rain would be the only reason to have my vdc off or driving agressive in canyons with more than 2 people in the car.

Other than that its always off when the car starts.

I hear what you are saying, however, technology advancement in my opinion is an advantage we consumers, drivers in this case, are given as available. Since it is available, we should be thankful and take it as a tool we can use for the betterment. Let's face it, mass production cars are made/tailored to the average drivers in the demographics that they focus on. VDC is there for that reason and it serves the purpose in certain driving conditions in this demographics. For those experts that don't need to have the feature, on our car, just turn it off, if unable to turn it off on a car, that's where the mods/custom works comes in!

VDC is convenient. I think the majority of the people out ther can't handle the power most modern cars make so manufacturers put in VDC. I know there are a couple of corners near my work where the concrete is worn down so that the slick pebbles are exposed. With VDC off, it's impossible to accelerate out of those corners onto the feeder, but with VDC on it's a piece of cake and gets you up to speed MUCH faster.

Plus, my insurance company gives you a discount for having VDC so that in itself is worth it!

while driving to and from work, do you really need to turn off VDC? I think VDC has turned on once or twice during my daily commute, and that was making a turn where water is running across the street.

I've never understood why people say I turn it off every time I turn on the car. It doesn't seem that intrusive. heh

Mine is ON all the time. I figure that I can turn it OFF in a moments notice, if so desired. Likewise, if I truly need it ON . . . I might not have the opportunity to reach for the switch.
