I have tried heel and toe couple of times last few days .... how in the hell do you guys accomplish this in the G ? every time I try ... the brake pedal is way above the gas for me to hit it with my heel. I have seen many racing videos and most all drivers do this ... so there must be a reason.

I just brake with half of my foot on the brake and roll the other half on the gas. But I wear a size 11 and blew out my right knee so I could never toe - heel. Just my $.02

In the G35, I don't really do 'heel and toe' per say, it's more like heel on the floor, left toe on the brake and right side of the foot on the gas. Works better that way for me. Try to brake with only the big toe and the left side of your foot and the right side will naturally fall on the gas pedal.

Yeah I know, the reason I posted was because I wanted to find out if I was the only one that sucks at heel and toe.

EXACTLY! The term "heel/toe" becomes misleading when a nation's average adult-male foot-size is bigger than a size 7.

I tried with my gym shoes today and I just still can't get heel/toe as it is described textbook style.

I think I'm sticking with half and half

Is the purpose just to attempt to keep speed through a turn? Don't the tires and such have more to do with that than messing with the brakes/clutch? I guess I'm still at a loss as to what benefit this can provide. I'm intrigued.

If you rev-match while downshifting for a corner, you can keep from upsetting the chassis as much before entering that corner. That's the biggest benefit to me.

As much as I've tried, I can't heel/toe for the life of me. I think my feet aren't wide enough. I can sort of manage in my work shoes, since they are stiffer. But on the track, I'm always wearing sneakers and they are just too damn flexible. My foot slips right off in between the two pedals.
